※英文を先に、日本語は後に記載しています ★Limited-Time Signing★ To celebrate the relaunch of our online shop, all art books will be hand-signed by the artist, Yoshiyasu Tamura, for a limited time. Signatures are autograph only. ※No illustrations or personalized dedications are available. ※This offer may end without prior notice. This art book documents an ongoing collaborative project begun in 2016 by Japanese painter and manga artist Yoshiyasu Tamura and Ukrainian photographer Marfa Vasilieva. In this project, Tamura draws manga imagery directly onto the model’s body as a painterly surface, while Vasilieva determines the corresponding poses and locations and photographs the resulting works. The project is conceived and presented strictly as a contemporary art practice, focusing on drawing, photography, and the dialogue between the two media. Although the project remains ongoing, this publication was produced by a gallery in the Netherlands in 2023 in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in order to record the artists’ thoughts, the evolution of the works, and the state of the project at that moment in time. The book features beautifully printed plates refined through multiple color proofs, and is bound with PUR binding for ease of opening. This 120-page, full-color volume with an elegant foil-stamped cover includes all photographic works from the collaboration, a selection of key drawings, and an extensive 20,000-character essay by Yoshiyasu Tamura. In the essay, Tamura reflects in detail on why and how he moved to Europe, how his current artistic approach developed, and how this collaboration came into being. In this sense, the book serves as a significant summation of his artistic journey to date. Text in English and Japanese. ※A portion of the proceeds from this publication will be donated to the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan. Details regarding the donation amount will be shared via platforms such as Fanbox once a certain contribution level has been reached. ※Shipping & Fees (International Orders) This item will be shipped from Japan, directly from the artist’s atelier.
